Business owners from across the Kansas City area will meet at Metropolitan Community College to make connections and display what their companies have to offer.
The sixth annual Midwest Supplier Diversity Exposition will take place on Wednesday, May 15, in the Physical Education building on the MCC-Penn Valley campus, 3201 Southwest Trafficway. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The expo provides a place where diverse business owners can showcase their products and services. This includes companies that are minority-owned, women-owned, LGBTQ-owned, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran owned and Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUB Zone) enterprises.
Business owners taking part provide a variety of services and products including catering, promotional products, electrical services and supplies, plumbing, office supplies, furniture, marketing and advertising, restoration and environmental services, various consulting services, athletic uniforms and gear, janitorial services and supplies, landscaping and engineering services.
These business owners will also meet with procurement representatives from the public and private sectors.
At 9 a.m. business owners and corporate representatives who entered into contracts as a result of their participation in the 2018 Procurement One-on-One and MWBE Exposition will be recognized at the Contract Awards Recognition Ceremony.
The exposition itself starts at 10 a.m.
