Considering community college? MCC campuses to host open houses Saturday, April 6

The five Metropolitan Community College campuses are hosting MCC Spring Preview Day on Saturday, April 6, with open houses from 9 a.m. to noon. April is Community College Month — a time to celebrate the value, flexibility and increased opportunities offered by community colleges.

Prospective students and their families can take campus tours, participate in classroom demonstrations, learn about the many MCC transfer and career programs, and get guidance with the enrollment process. Faculty members, enrollment and financial aid specialists, and academic advisors will be on hand to answer questions.

“We want potential students to know that we are here to help them succeed,” says MCC Chancellor Dr. Kimberly Beatty. “Whether you plan to transfer to a four-year college, enter the workforce after earning an associate degree or even work while you are enrolled, you won’t find a more accessible or affordable option than MCC.”

The five MCC campuses are:

  • MCC-Penn Valley, 3201 Southwest Trafficway, Kansas City
  • MCC-Business & Technology, 1775 Universal Ave., Kansas City
  • MCC-Blue River, 20301 E. 78 Highway, Independence
  • MCC-Maple Woods, 2601 N.E. Barry Road, Kansas City
  • MCC-Longview, 500 S.W. Longview Road, Lee’s Summit

There will be giveaways that morning too, and radio stations will broadcast remotes from the campuses: Magic 107.3 at Penn Valley; 101 The Fox at Blue River; X 105.1 at Maple Woods; and 95.7 The Vibe at Longview.

MCC also offers evening classes and a fully online program with the same high-quality instruction and learning opportunities found at our five campuses. Learn more at mcckc.edu.
