MCC students, employees will serve others on MLK Day of Service Jan. 21

Metropolitan Community College students and employees will follow in the steps of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 21.

They will join people across the country taking part in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. They will make it a “day on” instead of a day off during the federal holiday. (At MCC, there will be no classes that day, and offices will be closed.)

Volunteering is a key part of MCC’s mission to serve communities. This year, about 250 students (including about 50 MCC Wolves softball and baseball players) are expected to roll up their sleeves to help various organizations throughout the Kansas City area.

Students can register for any volunteer location regardless of their home campus. Sign up here.

Employees interested in volunteering that day don’t need to register; just come to the campus that’s organizing the activity you’re interested in. Check-in locations are below.
