MCC cybersecurity program shines at national recognition night

MCC-Blue River President, Dr. Jacqueline Gill, and Brian Hurley, the College’s cybersecurity program coordinator, were on hand during an evening ceremony in Miami to accept the honor. MCC’s cybersecurity program joins about 200 other U.S. colleges and universities with that top-tier designation, among them just 70 two-year colleges.

The Centers of Academic Excellence program is jointly sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. The CAE designation goes to colleges with “robust degree programs and close alignment to specific cybersecurity-related knowledge units (KUs), validated by top subject matters in the field.” MCC’s designation runs through 2023.
