Sandra Price is the newest member of the Metropolitan Community College Foundation Board of Directors. Her nomination was approved by the MCC Board of Trustees on Aug. 16.
Foundation board members serve three-year terms.
Price was the senior vice president for human resources at Sprint before retiring in 2016. She is also a member of the board of directors of Evergy.
She is known as a mentor and community leader. She was honored by the Kansas City Business Journal for her contributions to the Kansas City community and her efforts to improve the business climate for women.
Price has a history in education. She was a principal in the Blue Valley School District and in the Jenks Public School District in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
“As an educator, human resources executive and community leader, I understand the power of developing people and the great need we have for a well-prepared workforce,” Price says. “MCC is committed to every aspect of student success. It is an honor to contribute to the well-being of the diverse, talented MCC student population and to the future of our wonderful Kansas City region. ”
Price holds a B.A. in special education and an M.A. in learning disabilities and school administration. She also once served as the president of the Johnson County Community College Foundation.
