Roche named to new workforce/economic development position

Joe Roche

Joe Roche, dean of instruction at MCC’s Business & Technology campus, has been named associate vice chancellor of workforce and economic development. Working with Dr. Carlos Penaloza, vice chancellor of instruction and chief academic officer, Roche will start his new assignment July 1.

Chancellor Kimberly Beatty, in a Feb. 9 announcement, said that as dean of instruction Roche has been responsible for coordinating and directing academic activities, including development and assessment of curriculum as well as evaluations of instructional personnel and program offerings.

Roche will use that experience “to connect our academic programs from the district level to better serve the business community and create the pipeline of skilled employees,” Dr. Beatty said.
