Dr. Bill Dial has been named chief human resources officer at Metropolitan Community College. He will start at MCC on March 19, Chancellor Kimberly Beatty said in a message to employees.
Dial joins MCC from Richland College, part of the Dallas County Community College District, where he is currently the executive director of human resources and organizational development. In this role, he is responsible for HR functions as well as serving as the Title IX administrator, ADA coordinator and EEO compliance administrator. He has been in his current position since January 2016.
Dial previously served as Richland College’s director of human resources, 2006-2011. From 2011 to 2015, he was executive director of human resources at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Colorado. He previously served as institutional personnel analyst at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Dial has also served as area chair and lead faculty at the University of Phoenix’s Dallas/Colorado Campus. He has served in a mentorship/leadership/evaluation role for faculty members in the graduate Business Program and the undergraduate Business Ethics and Law Division.
He serves on the Executive Advisory Board of the Dallas chapter of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources; is current president of the Lone Star chapter of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources; and is past chair of the Capella University Community College Advisory Board.
Dial holds a bachelor of science in education from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville; a master of science in human resources management from Lindenwood University in St. Louis; and a Ph.D. in organizational management from Capella University in Minneapolis.
