Metropolitan Community College staff and faculty are invited to celebrate cultural diversity and register for the 2017-18 Civility and Respect Series.
This year’s keynote speaker is Pearl Rovaris-MacDonald. She’s given more than 1,500 presentations nationwide, covering topics like communication, diversity, team building and stress management. She has also worked as a comedian at ComedyCity in Kansas City, Missouri, and she founded the sketch comedy group “Pretty. Funny. – 6 women who will make you laugh.” Pearl can also be heard on the radio as the co-host of 12th Street Jump, a live jazz, blues and comedy jam, on NPR affiliate, KCUR (89.3). Returning to her love of education, Pearl helped start EarlyBird College Consultants, helping parents and students prepare for and navigate the college process.
Designed to promote an intentional dialogue, the Civility and Respect series will engage participants in thought provoking concepts. Participants will explore how MCC can promote programs and resources towards building an inclusive environment for student success.
