Beaming smiles and tassels were plentiful as dozens of Metropolitan Community College-Business & Technology students became alumni Wednesday during the college’s commencement at Municipal Auditorium.
“This is a tremendous achievement for our students as they take the next step in their careers or the first step toward a rewarding career,” said Dr. Jackie Gill, president of the MCC-Business & Technology campus. “Receiving a certificate or degree is proof that we’re preparing our students and serving the community by continuing to supply the workforce with well-trained and educated employees. We’re honored to celebrate this wonderful day in their lives, as well as their success.”
Before the commencement ceremony, many of the graduates posed for photos with Gill and other MCC-Business & Technology administrators and faculty. In addition, graduates received tassels, medallions and a lapel pin, courtesy of the president.
After the celebration prior to commencement, graduates lined up in the hallways of Municipal Auditorium before walking across the stage before hundreds of onlookers, including family and friends.
