Kathrine Swanson, Ed.D., MCC’s vice chancellor for student success and engagement, is one of two keynote speakers at a regional conference of the Mid-America Association for Institutional Research (MidAIR). Swanson will speak on the importance of telling your college’s story through data and analytics.
The conference for institutional researchers is being held Nov. 9-11 in Kansas City. This year’s conference theme, “The Art of Institutional Research,” reflects the increasing use of data visualization in the field of institutional research.
Swanson, who joined MCC in 2015, is responsible for student access and success initiatives. She leads strategic enrollment management planning and student financial services. She also collaborates with campus leaders to ensure student development areas such as counseling, disability services and campus life are providing opportunities for student engagement and success both in and out of the classroom.
MidAIR works to encourage communication, professional development, and networking opportunities among institutional research, assessment, and data professionals. It serves as a source of information about higher education issues and topics. MidAIR serves the Midwest region of Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma and is an affiliate of the Association for Institutional Research.
