MCC-Maple Woods presents:  An Evening of Conversation: An Open Forum on the Upcoming Election

  • Date:  Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016
  • Time:  6:30 p.m.
  • Location:  MCC-Maple Woods Campus Center, Arbor Room 110
  • Free and open to the public

MCC history instructors Bill Young and Diane Boldt, along with seasonal learning specialist Courtney Culp will moderate the discussion.

They will open the evening up with  a historical dialog on the electoral college and popular vote. There have previously been other robust and colorful election seasons on par with the current presidential fight between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

The goal is to give students and interested public a better knowledge base on voting and elections.

From there, the panel will look at the current election from the sociological and political perspective.

The group will also have a question and answer session after the initial dialog.

Crystal Johnson, MCC division chair, social sciences and business,  and Mindy Johnson, MCC associate dean of student development,  will be co-facilitating/hosting the event.
