Jessica Ramirez has been appointed associate vice chancellor of advancement for Metropolitan Community College.
Ramirez joins MCC after having served as senior development director for St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit for the past five years. There, Ramirez led annual fundraising and major-gift solicitation and established special events aimed at increasing donor giving.
Prior to her tenure at St. Luke’s East, Ramirez was development director at Cabot Westside Medical and Dental Center, where she led programs targeting corporate giving. Ramirez also previously worked at MCC as community relations and fundraising manager for the MCC Foundation.
Ramirez’s background also includes eight years with Project AIM, where she held positions including executive director and community outreach coordinator.
Ramirez is an alumna of MCC, having earned an associate in arts degree from MCC-Longview. She also holds a bachelor’s in social work from the University of Central Missouri and a master of arts in management and leadership from Webster University.
“I am eager for an opportunity to return to the MCC Foundation with the chance of providing leadership, growing charitable philanthropy and providing guidance for strategic development,” Ramirez says.
Ramirez replaces Kent Huyser, who left the College last December.
Ramirez begins her new position Sept. 12 and will have her office in the MCC Foundation suite on the first floor of the Administrative Center.
