David Disney, who served as president of MCC’s Board of Trustees for a decade, was presented with his gavel recently — attached to a plaque made in the FabLab at MCC-Business & Technology.

The plaque includes MCC’s new centennial seal and the dates Disney led the six-member board, 2006-2016. Current board president Trent Skaggs presented the gift to Disney at the trustees’ June 23 meeting.

Disney, who represents Subdistrict 2, was first elected in 2000. His current term expires in 2020.

Disney says that although he’s no longer president, his dedication to the institution will continue.

“I believe in MCC and what we offer to our students,” he says.

His one-of-a-kind plaque, by the way, can be displayed on a flat surface or on a wall.
