‘Movers and shakers’ with MCC connections named to Power 100 list

Three co-chairs of the Metropolitan Community College capital campaign and four members of the MCC Foundation board of directors made the Kansas City Business Journal’s Power 100 list for 2016.kcbj power 100 logo 2016

Business Journal editors describe the “admittedly subjective list” as including “people who are deemed powerful because of the titles or offices they hold, the money they direct and the connections they facilitate.

“The Power 100 are the area’s movers and shakers. . . . (T)his is a list of people who can call anyone in the community and have that call returned.”

The latest Power 100 list (click their names to read more about them) includes:

+ Carolyn Watley, MCC Foundation vice chair and president of CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services of Kansas City

+ CiCi Rojas, MCC Foundation secretary and CEO of the Central Exchange (also recently honored as one of three “Women Who’ve Changed the Heart of the City”)

+ Charlie Shields, MCC Foundation director and president and CEO, Truman Medical Centers

+ Maurice Watson, MCC Foundation director and chairman of the Husch Blackwell law firm

+ Terry Dunn, lead co-chair of the MCC Works capital campaign, founder of private investment venture DD Ranch Leawood and retired CEO of JE Dunn Construction

+ Terry Bassham, a co-chair of the MCC Works capital campaign and chairman and CEO of Great Plains Energy (Kansas City Power & Light)

+ Cliff Illig, a co-chair of the MCC Works capital campaign and vice chairman of Cerner Corp.

All seven made the Business Journal list last year as well.

Our congratulations to all!
