Nearly 200 pieces of artwork created by high school students from around the greater Kansas City metropolitan area vied for coveted attention at a special art showing at Metropolitan Community College-Longview.
You can check out the winners of MCC-Longview’s Seventh Annual Fine Arts Challenge starting tonight at The Cultural Arts Center Gallery on the Longview campus.
This year, high school students from Lee’s Summit, Lee’s Summit North, Lee’s Summit West and Raytown South submitted 194 pieces. 49 pieces were selected. That means only 25 percent of the work made it into this highly competitive student exhibit.
This year’s art juror was MCC’s own DeAnna Skedel from MCC-Blue River.
The Fine Arts Challenge runs through February 27th. Doors open this evening at 4:00pm.
MCC hopes to see you there as we support our local high school art students.
