Marquita Miller has joined the Metropolitan Community College Foundation board of directors. Her nomination was approved Dec. 17 by the MCC Board of Trustees.
Miller owns and operates Five Star Tax & Business Solutions in Kansas City. She started her own small business in 2005 after years of working as an accountant for Fortune 500 companies.
She describes herself as a “faithpreneur,” someone who on the path to entrepreneurship “first follows the path to God.” She has written a book, “Faithpreneur: God Is Not an Agent for Your Failure.”
Miller, a Kansas City native, is a graduate of MCC-Maple Woods. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management from Park University and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Her board term runs through June 30, 2017.
The MCC Foundation, established in 1976, raises money to support student scholarships and special campus initiatives across the MCC district.
