The MCC-Blue River campus honored 134 graduates at a reception Dec. 15 for students who completed a degree or certificate program during the fall semester. Of those honored, 16 were graduates of the Blue River Police Academy (that ceremony was Dec. 16) and 23 were graduates of the Blue River Fire Academy (Nov. 30 ceremony).
Thirty of the Fall 2015 grads received distinction as Trailblazer Scholars, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The Trailblazer Scholars consisted of two groups:
+ Thirteen graduates received Outstanding Academic Honors with GPAs of 3.9 and higher.
+ Seventeen received Honorable Academic Honors with GPAs of 3.5 to 3.89.
All the Trailblazer Scholars were presented with certificates of achievement and a Trailblazer lapel pin.
MCC-BR president Dr. Michael Banks congratulated the students for their hard work and accomplishments in achieving this major milestone and wished them continued success. The graduates were encouraged to attend the MCC commencement exercises on May 12, 2016, at Municipal Auditorium for graduates classes from all five MCC campuses.
This fall graduation reception was the first held at MCC-BR for fall grads.
