From the archives, 2001: MCC-Longview named a Time magazine ‘College of the Year’

MCC’s Longview campus was singled out for national praise in 2001 by a special issue of Time magazine produced in conjunction with the Princeton Review. What made MCC-Longview a “College of the Year”? Its Writing Across the Curriculum program.

Longview, according to Time, “places an uncommon emphasis on teaching its students to communicate effectively. From music appreciation to psychology to, yes, auto mechanics, students are putting pen to paper and learning critical skills that will help as they graduate to four-year universities or the work force.”
