MCC Student Uses Fitness Center to Recover After Stroke

Ashley Boyer, MCC-Maple Woods student, was the victim of a stroke at 18 years old. When she woke up in the hospital, doctors told her it would be unlikely that she was able to walk or talk again. She’s proved them wrong.

Boyer began physical therapy and even sought out a place to do extra therapy. When she started going to the MCC-Maple Woods fitness center she was still in a wheelchair. Now, Ashley is a walking, talking worker of the fitness center that has made amazing strides.
