Excelsior Springs Man Covers A+ Funding Shortfall for MCC Students

MCC is proud to have community support that believes in the value of education.

Missouri’s Department of Higher Education announced that students who participate in Missouri’s A+ Scholarship Program will receive tuition reimbursement for all but one credit hour for the Spring 2015 semester in December of  2014 .  Since the state’s A+ funds fell short, local business man, Mike Anderson, wanted to help students from Excelsior Springs cover the gap to attend college.

Anderson was home sick and happened to hear a news story about the lack in A+ funding and what that meant for students. Anderson decided to take matters into his own hands and contacted MCC to see how he could do to help.

Anderson will be covering the tuition gap for nearly 30 MCC students out of his own pocket.
