MCC Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Technology, Paul Long, and SC’s Academic Dean for Professional Studies, Amy Esau, announce an agreement easing the way for MCC graduates to transfer to Southwestern College.
Metropolitan Community College and Southwestern College announced today the signing of an articulation agreement that provides a smooth curriculum transition for students, allowing them to transfer from MCC to Southwestern College Professional Studies without loss of credits or duplication of coursework.
Southwestern College is located in Wichita and offers the Professional Studies program that features online courses available every six weeks.
Vice Chancellor, Paul Long said, “It’s great for our college but more importantly it’s good for our students. We work to have good relationships with post-secondary institutions so that we can provide access and encourage students to continue their education. This agreement gives our students access to on-line learning and that opens the doors for so many opportunities. ”
This is the first agreement MCC has entered with Southwestern College. To date MCC has approximately 400 articulation agreements in place.
