Jamison Shipman, Partner at Lathrop & Gage, has joined the Metropolitan Community College Foundation board of directors.
Shipman has significant experience in rendering tax advice with respect to structuring and negotiating mergers and acquisitions. He has worked with Lathrop & Gage since 2003. Shipman was selected as one of the Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” in 2009, 2011 and 2012. He was also awarded the William L. Burdick Prize, for being number One in Class after his first year in law school at the University of Kansas. Shipman holds a masters of law degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law; J.D. from the University of Kansas Schoolof Law and a bachelor of arts in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.
The Metropolitan Community College Foundation board of directors also welcomes Victoria R. Westerhaus who is a Partner at Stinson Leonard Street.
Westerhaus represents public and private companies in transactions and security law matters. She is a graduate of the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City’s Kansas City Tomorrow leadership program who served as a past president for the organization and is currently a board member. Westerhaus also served as a past president for The Foundation of The Lawyers Association of Kansas City, Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals and the Metro Lutheran Ministry. In 2012-2014, she was listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Governance and Mergers & Acquisitions. Westerhaus earned her law degree from the University of Nebraska.
Shipman and Westerhaus will both serve an initial term on the MCC Foundation Board of Directors that runs through June 30, 2017.
