“MCC has committed to a major re-engineering to be even more transformative, dynamic and relevant to the region’s 21st Century economy, leveraging our ability to prepare students for a baccalaureate degree at a university or to be career-ready for Kansas City’s businesses and industries,” said Mark James, chancellor of the five-campus Metropolitan Community College system. “Dr. Naima not only brings a unique blend of extensive experience in both academic and career programs, but has actually been a CEO of a multi-million dollar international company.”
Dr. Naima holds a B.S. and M.S. in plant science from Utah State University. He also received his B.S in engineering from Washington State University and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Idaho. “I am pleased to join Metropolitan Community College, and I am enthusiastically looking forward to working with Chancellor James and his team to make this very special institution even greater than it already is. I am honored to serve as the next president of MCC-Business and Technology. I have every confidence that there is absolutely no limit to the educational and training opportunities we will offer to our MCC students,” said Dr. Naima.
Naima began his new role as president of MCC-Business and Technology on May 5, 2014.
