MCC-Maple Woods and community partners to present “Age of Champions”

Many people will tell you that age is just a number – no more of an indicator of health, ability, passion or humor than shoe size. The sassy subjects of the documentary film “Age of Champions” set out to prove just that.

MCC-Maple Woods, along with Shepard’s Center Central and Clay County Senior Services, will be presenting “Age of Champions” from 9:30 a.m. – noon in the Campus Center Arbor Room. This event is FREE and open to the public, but reservations are required by calling 816.604.3177. Light refreshments will be served.

Age of Champions is an award-winning PBS documentary following five competitors who sprint, leap and swim for gold at the National Senior Olympics. You’ll meet a 100-year old tennis champion, an 86-year old pole vaulter, and rough-and-tumble basketball grandmothers as they triumph over the limitations of age.

Producer Tad Ochwat will also be on hand to share some inspiring information about the documentary and its participants, as well as answer questions.
