Laker Dylan Farrell named NJCAA Player of the Week

Dylan FarrellAfter leading the MCC-Longview Laker baseball team to victory in its opening weekend, sophomore right fielder Dylan Farrell was named the NJCAA player of the week.

“(Farrell) may be one of the most talented players that have ever come through our program,” Coach Clint Culbertson said. “He is learning how to use all his tools to affect the game.”

Farrell scored six runs and six RBIs with .583 average in a single week. Culbertson said he looks forward to seeing how Farrell goes to work for the Lakers the rest of the season.

“Our hope and belief is that there will be many more weeks in his future like last week,” Culbertson said.

Farrell joins El Paso (Texas) sophomore third baseman Eudor Garcia as NJCAA Baseball Player of the Week. USC Salkehatchie (S.C.) sophomore Bryce King and GateWay (Ariz.) sophomore Randy Dalrymple have been named NJCAA Baseball Pitchers of the Week.
