Miami Marlins’ Morrison mentions memories of Marty and the MCC-Maple Woods Monarchs

When Miami Marlins player and MCC-Maple Woods alumnus Logan Morrison made his return to Kansas City in August, we caught up with him to talk about how playing for the Maple Woods Monarchs helped prepare him for the big leagues.

Morrison, known as LoMo to his fans, credits Monarchs Head Coach Marty Kilgore as a mentor on his path to success. Hear what else the Lee’s Summit native had to say when we chatted with him on the field before the Marlins’ first of three games against the Royals:

Great offense by Morrison helped lead the Marlins to victory in two out of three games during the series against the Royals.

Morrison, who plays first base and sometimes left field for the Marlins, is one of 40 MCC-Maple Woods Monarchs who have gone on to careers in professional baseball.
