Francis Institute Plants Pinwheels For Child Abuse Prevention Month

Staff and children from the Francis Institute for Child and Youth Development and Acadamía de Niños planted pinwheels in front of the Francis Institute facility to honor children affected by abuse. More than 300 pinwheels were planted in honor of  Childhood Abuse Prevention Month.

According to the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect, 100,000 to 200,000 children are physically abused each year and five times as many children are neglected.
