Boy Scouts earn badges, learn skills at MCC-Business & Technology

MCC-Business & Technology hosted the second annual Boy Scouts Merit Badge Round-Up on Saturday, February 9. Forty-seven Boy Scouts earned a total of 76 merit badges in welding, geocaching, metal work, computers, and scholarship.

Materials were donated by R&D Leverage, MeadWesvaco Calmar Inc, and KC Structural Steel.  Seven counselors, 17 adult leaders and two coordinators volunteered their time.

According to Boy Scouts of America, 60% of former Scouts say they made a career choice based on experiences they had earning a merit badge.

In 2012, MCC-Business & Technology hosted the inaugural Merit Badge Round-Up for 24 Scouts.
