Russian History & Culture at MCC-Longview

Two professors from Kostroma State Technological University Kostroma, Russia are visiting Metropolitan Community College and delivering guest lectures in Intercultural Communication classes at MCC-Longview, MCC-Maple Woods and MCC-Blue River.

Angelina Kondratyeva and Iana Asatkina  (Кондратьева А.В and Асаткина Я.А) have visited MCC-Longview and MCC-Maple Woods classes already and were extremely engaging and informative.  They have additional classroom lectures next week at MCC-Blue River and MCC-Longview.

Both presenters are faculty members at Kostroma State Technological University in Kostroma, Russia and have extensive experience as professional interpreters for Americans and as guides for American Tourists.

Kondratyeva and Asatkina will be delivering a public presentation at MCC-Longview in the Cultural Arts Center Theater Thursday, February 7 at 7 p.m.

In addition to discussing the historical forces that have shaped Russian culture, they will share their insights about the transition from Soviet times to Russia as it is today.  Both were young adults at the time the Soviet Union ended.
