MCC in the news: Area law enforcement officers get ‘active shooter’ training at Blue River

In the wake of the school shooting tragedy in Newtown, Conn., law enforcement officers around the country are eager to brush up on training for responding to so-called active shooter emergencies.

Such training, including full-scale simulations, is offered almost monthly at the MCC-Blue River Public Safety Institute. Fox 4 news reporter Brad Underwood stopped by the Public Safety Institute this week to see a training in action.

Officers from eleven different law enforcement agencies attended this week’s training.
