MCC-Longview Debate Team to Host Tournament

MCC-Longview Debate and Forensics team will host the Central States Invitational Forensics Swing next weekend, Friday-Sunday, Oct. 26-28, on the Longview campus in Lee’s Summit, Mo.

NPDA debate will begin on Friday and conclude on Saturday. Two complete individual events tournaments will be offered on Saturday and Sunday.

So far, teams such as Wiley College, Texas Southern University, University of Central Missouri, and Kansas Wesleyan University have committed to attending the tournament.

MCC-Longview debate coach John Mikolajcik says, “We look forward to hosting these prestigious schools while they experience the rich environment that MCC – Longview has to offer, not only for our scenic views, but wonderful and gracious faculty, staff, and students.”

Schedule for the debate is as follows:

  • Friday, October 26, 1-7 p.m. (Liberal Arts building)
    Registration begins at 1 p.m., with rounds beginning at 2 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 27, 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (Campus Center)
    Registration begins at 7 a.m., with rounds beginning at 8 a.m.
  • Sunday, October 28, 7:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. (Campus Center)
    Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with rounds beginning at 8:30 a.m.
