Penn Valley Student Chosen as Model for Missouri Department of Higher Education

The Missouri Department of Higher Education (MDHE) has recently selected its faces of MDHE for 2013-2015 – and Penn Valley’s very own, Hilari Holt is among the ten students selected statewide!

She will appear in print materials and on the MDHE website as a condition of her selection.

Hilari comes across as the epitome of a great student-leader and is sure to shine in the midst of her November photo shoot. Holt is a peer leader on the dean’s list, a student ambassador, member of the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, and a part-time employee for student services and student development here at Penn Valley.

She is currently studying Apparel and Textiles for Product Development and plans to graduate with her associates degree in May 2013.

When asked what her plans are for the future, Holt responds that her immediate interests are acting, modeling and hopefully, becoming famous – but cautions that regardless of what she’s already done as a student at Penn Valley, “…there’s so much more to come!”

Apparently, Holt is no stranger to the camera: she has appeared on a boutique spotlight segment for KCTV-5’s “Que Pasa, KC?”, has been captured in at least 12 area fashion shows since April 2012, five photo shoots – and can currently be found in print for a 2012 edition of Aura Fashion Magazine.

Holt currently serves as the secretary for Penn Valley’s student ambassador program, is a 2011 recipient of the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) Student Leadership Award, a student leadership team meeting panelist with MCC Chancellor Mark James, and has been recognized for her “Outstanding Contribution to the College for a Student” by the 2012 Spring Honors Convocation.
