MCC has named Kent Huyser executive director of the MCC Foundation and Alumni Association. Huyser replaces Vincent Anch, who had served as director of the MCC Foundation since 2007 until he left in October to become executive director of the Catholic Charities Foundation.
Huyser was previously director of development at the UMKC Foundation where he led fundraising efforts for the school of medicine. Prior to joining UMKC, he served in leadership positions at William Jewell College, including as the regional development director and the executive director of alumni relations and annual giving. Huyser has also held leadership roles in human resources and in the savings bond department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.
Currently, the foundation is conducting a study to identify and implement strategies aimed at enriching the teaching and learning environment across the MCC district and improving outcomes for students, employers and the community. Huyser will play an important role as MCC pursues the idea of a major gifts campaign.
“I’m very excited to start on Monday,” said Huyser. “Kansas City is home for me and this is a wonderful institution. MCC gives the gift of higher education to more people than anyone in the area and that’s an exciting mission to be a part of.”
Huyser begins his new role on Feb. 18.
