MCC is proud to announce that Margaret Boyd, executive director of the Institute for Workforce Innovation, has joined the KCnext – The Technology Council of Greater Kansas City board of directors.
KCnext is a regional effort, dedicated to promoting the region’s technology sector. Its goals include growing the existing base of technology firms, recruiting and attracting technology companies, consolidating and promoting our regional IT assets, and providing collaboration opportunities among industry, education and workforce stakeholders.
Boyd is one of three new members elected to serve on the board.
“The knowledge and expertise that Margaret brings will be invaluable as KCnext continues to advance and grow the regional tech industry. The addition of Metropolitan Community College will provide more collaboration opportunities and national notoriety for KC’s tech sector in 2013,” said Perry Puccetti, president and CEO of Triple-I Corporation, who is currently serving as chairman of the KCnext Board.
Boyd has been with MCC for eleven years. She has been entrusted with two high-profile MCC initiatives, having served as both the interim director of MCC-Penn Valley’s Health Science Institute, in addition to her permanent role as the executive director of the Institute for Workforce Innovation (IWI). Prior to that, she has served in administrative positions for the MCC Business & Technology and Longview campuses. Before coming to MCC, she was the Vice Chancellor and Executive Vice President of Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, and a Master of Science in psychology from University of Arkansas-Conway.
