More than 700 attendees across the Greater Kansas City area participated in the KC Urban Summit Saturday at Penn Valley.
The event was founded by Jackson County Legislator James Tindall. Workshops and plenary sessions addressed such topics as housing, economic development, youth services, health and education.
Kansas City, Missouri Mayor Sly James delivered opening remarks about the state of the city’s urban core.
Congressman Emanuel Cleaver delivered a fiery keynote address challenging participants to remain steadfast in their commitment to justice in our community and nation.
