Volunteers Needed for Debate Tournament

Next weekend marks MCC-Longview’s annual Central States Invitational Forensics Swing. The tournament will be held Friday through Sunday, October 26-28 on the Longview campus.

John Mikolajcik, director of debate and forensics at Longview, invites MCC faculty and staff to participate in the judging process. Volunteering just an hour and a half of your time to watch, listen, and evaluate some of the best debaters in the nation will be appreciated.

Volunteers are needed all three days of the tournament during the following hours:

  • Friday, October 26, 1-7 p.m. (Liberal Arts building)
    Registration begins at 1 p.m., with rounds beginning at 2 p.m. and lasting approximately one hour each
  • Saturday, October 27, 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. (Campus Center)
    Registration begins at 7 a.m., with rounds beginning at 8 a.m. and lasting approximately one hour each
  • Sunday, October 28, 7:30 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. (Campus Center)
    Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with rounds beginning at 8:30 a.m. and lasting approximately one hour each.
