Two Monarchs are on their way to the big leagues – Goudeau and Embree drafted

Two former Monarchs – Ashton Goudeau and Cory Embree – are MLB-bound, taken in the later rounds of this year’s draft.

Goudeau, a right-handed pitcher from Union, Mo., was drafted by the Royals. Cory Embree, who was drafted once before deciding to attend MCC-Maple Woods, was taken by the LA Dodgers.

Goudeau and Embree will join many other former Monarchs who have moved on to play professional and semi-professional baseball, including MLB stars Albert Pujols and Jake Blackwood and Logan Morrison.
