Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) Legally Required

For Benefit Eligible Employees/Retirees  Enrolled in the Medical Plan

As an employee, the health benefits available to you represent a significant component of your compensation package. They also provide important protection for you and your family in the case of illness or injury.

Your plan offers a series of health coverage options. Choosing a health coverage option is an important decision. To help you make an informed choice, your plan makes available a Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC), which summarizes important information about any health coverage option in a standard format, to help you compare across options.

The SBC is available on MCC’s info exchange>Human Resources>Benefits-Summary of Benefits & Coverage.  For BCBS members, it also available by accessing your member portal at

The Summary of Benefits & Coverage is being provided to you in response to Healthcare Reform mandates. This summary is in addition to the standard BCBS benefit summary you are accustomed to and it is more general in nature. Your BCBS benefit summary will provide more detail on your benefits.

**Please note the HRA notice is also included, this only applies to those employees receiving an flexible spending account contribution from MCC.
