For the first time at Penn Valley,  Robin Craig-Carriaga (biology instructor) demonstrated and conducted an Alu Genotyping Lab where students explored their own human genomes.

The procedure included the use of polymerase chain reaction and other techniques new to our campus.  Craig-Carriaga brought an element of discovery and excitement to  students.  One of her biology classes and three of Terry Davin’s BIOL classes participated.
