MCC-Maple Woods invites you to remember the Holocaust through music

As part of its annual tradition of memorializing Holocaust victims and survivors through music, MCC-Maple Woods will once again host Day of Remembrance: Remembering the Holocaust Through Music. The free event will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 7 in the Campus Center Arbor Room.

While the event has focused on traditional chamber music penned by composers who continued their art even while interred in concentration camps, this year’s concert will also feature folk music of the time. A string trio will perform works by Hans Krasa and Gideon Klein, both of whom contributed a great deal to the cultural life of the concentration camps before their deaths in Auschwitz as the war was drawing to a close.
