MCC goes blue for child abuse prevention

Wear blue on Friday and keep child abuse prevention in mind throughout the month of April. That’s the message from Governor Jay Nixon, whom proclaimed April 2012 “Child Abuse Prevention Month.”

Metropolitan Community College Associate Vice Chancellor Tom Vansaghi was present (pictured center with children), as the chair of the Missouri Children’s Trust Fund, to accept Governor Jay Nixon’s official proclamation. Governor Nixon also specifically declared Friday, April 13, as “Go Blue” for Child Abuse Prevention Day.

CAPA (Child Abuse Prevention Association) is also promoting the wear blue for child abuse prevention day tomorrow. You can submit photos to the contest at Prevent Child Abuse Kansas City’s facebook page to help raise awareness. Please wear blue to support the cause of protecting children and help spread the message that child abuse can be prevented in our area.
