The MCC Human Resources Department is establishing a process in conjunction with MCC Communications to provide employees with information regarding our current and former colleagues. In addition to an email sent from Human Resources, such announcements will also appear on this website, blogs.mcckc.edu/insider, under “Employee Center.”
As a reminder, if you wish to share information with the MCC community, please follow the guidelines outlined in the MCC Everyone e-mail usage guide.
Here are the most recent employee tributes and remembrances.
Robin Retzer, retired AC administrator
Robin began working for MCC-Maple Woods as a student worker in 1969 and eventually became a valued member of the auxiliary and financial services divisions for the College. She retired in 2002. After her retirement Robin continued to assist the district, in particular at the MCC-Blue River campus, where she was greatly valued for her financial management and budgetary acumen.
A celebration of Robin’s life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the MCC-Penn Valley Education Center.
Jill Ladas, retired MCC employee
Jill spent the first part of her 27 years as an MCC employee on the MCC-Blue River campus, where she was a part-time academic advisor and part-time public information coordinator. She eventually moved to the MCC-Longview campus as the community outreach manager. Jill helped create Longview’s Flights of Fancy mega-kite festival that’s held each spring.
A celebration of Jill’s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m. at Longview Funeral Home, 12700 S. Raytown Road, Kansas City.
Charles Gosselin, MCC adjunct instructor
Charles Gosselin, retired MCC-Penn Valley faculty member and current adjunct, was involved in a small-plane crash earlier this month and sustained serious injuries.
Charles will celebrate his 80th birthday on Sunday, Jan. 15. His family is asking MCC colleagues to help him celebrate by sending him birthday cards, with the goal of getting at least 80 cards. If you would like to send one, please contact Nancy Harrington, chair of the Science, Math & Engineering division at MCC-Penn Valley.
