MCC-BT awards exceptional students, employees, and partners

MCC-BT recently held its first annual Awards Ceremony to recognize stand-out students, employees, and industry partners.  One hundred and twenty students, staff, and family members gathered to celebrate those who go above and beyond.

Missouri Community College Association Student Leadership Award
:  This award is presented annually to an exceptional student leader from each of Missouri’s community colleges/campuses. Recipients are identified by their college/campus president/chancellor and chief student affairs officer.

Missouri Community College Association Excellence in Teaching Award: 
This award is presented annually to top community college teachers and includes a proclamation from Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.
Kimball Marsh – Mathematics Program Coordinator/Instructor

Missouri Community College Association Senior Staff Award:  This award is presented to one employee from each Missouri community college who has worked for the college for at least 20 years.
Karen McKenzie – Business Office Specialist

Missouri Community College Association Classified Staff Award:  This award is presented annually to one member of the Association’s Classified Staff who has had a positive impact on their college and the Association.
Debbie Shaffer – Custodial Shift Coordinator

Staff Extra Mile Award:  This award is presented to a staff member who goes above and beyond at work while striving to meet the mission of MCC.

FabLab Innovation Award:  This award is presented to FabLab members who have demonstrated exceptional creativity and/or entrepreneurship.

Industry Partner-of-the-Year Awards:  This honor goes to industry partners who have demonstrated exceptional engagement with, and support of, one or more campus programs.

Technical Program Student-of-the-Year Awards: This honor goes to a graduating student in each MCC-BTC program who demonstrates exceptional performance, leadership and/or service to the program or campus. SkillsUSA State Postsecondary Competition Winners:  SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. Its mission is to empower its members to become world-class workers, leaders
and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA programs include local, state and national competitions in which students demonstrate occupational and leadership skills.  These students competed at Missouri State SkillsUSA competition.  Those that earned first place will complete in National SkillsUSA competition, which takes place in Kansas City June 24-28 at Bartle Hall.
