MCC-Blue River arts raise $3878 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City

MCC-Blue River arts students and members of the local community raised nearly $4000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City at the spring “Hope Away From Home” concert.

The Metropolitan Chorale of Kansas City, under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Johnson, put on an admirable performance Saturday night to raise funds for the local charity which provides housing for families of ailing children while they are being treated at local hospitals. A total of $3878 was given to Ronald McDonald House charities by donors at the concert who also bid on chairs that were created and donated to the cause by MCC-Blue River visual arts students. So additional congratulations go out to the students of Deanna Skedel, Blue River art instructor.

According to the Ronald McDonald House representative, the $3878.00 raised will pay for at least two months of a family’s expenses.
