MCC has a Higher Learning Commission (HLC) visit soon, and part of that visit will include a review of the College’s assessment process. Dr. Crystal Johnson has been working on several aspects designed to revise the process by making it more comprehensive and inviting for faculty to access and execute.
One part of this revision is the introduction of Summer Institutes on assessment.
The purpose behind these institutes is twofold:
- To introduce faculty to where assessment at MCC is heading.
- To give faculty a space to begin forming their discipline assessment.
MCC needs faculty to begin assessing in the fall semester.
Faculty who are able to attend should RSVP to the Dean of Instruction on their campus or reach out to the Summer Institute organizers by May 25.
Summer Institute dates and locations:
- June 8 – Longview
- June 22 – Maple Woods
- July 13 – Blue River
Each institute is anticipated to run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
