Join fellow MCC employees and students this summer in the Green Commute Challenge! Save some $$$ and help save the environment — plus, you might win prizes like $10 Amazon gift cards, Alamo Draft House Cinema tickets and even Fitbits.
Here’s how to get involved:
Sign up by going to ridesharekc.org/Public/Home.aspx; click the Register button. Use your MCC email address and create a password. You’ll get an email confirming your account.
After setting up your account, click on Green Commute Challenge (in blue bar), then Challenge Manager, then hit “join” next to Metropolitan Community College.
You can create your first Trip Profile by clicking on For Commuters (in blue bar), then Commute Dashboard. This might be your daily commute to work. Enter where you’re coming from and where you’re going, and you’ll see all the alternative ways to get there, such as carpools, cyclist pools and public transit (like RideKC buses).<<
As you log your trips, you and our team earn points (thus qualifying for prizes) by finding greener ways to get to work and get around town.
Mid-America Regional Council’s Green Commute Challenge started June 1 and runs through Aug. 31. Tell students about it, too! Their 2016-17 U-Pass (their MCC student ID, which lets them ride KCATA buses for free) is good through the end of August.
If you have questions, feel free to ask Janice Sieminski, whose office is serving as MCC team leader.
