Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching Announced

Five MCC instructors have received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) announced today. The instructors are Mr. Gene Johnson of MCC-Business & Technology, Dr. Lisa Bonneau of MCC-Blue River, Dr. Robert Smith of MCC-Longview, Ms. Kim Luken of MCC-Maple Woods and Ms. Liz Santander of MCC-Penn Valley.

The awards were presented by MCCA at a ceremony in Jefferson City today and included a proclamation from Missouri Governor Jay Nixon.

Photos of each honoree receiving his or her award will be posted on the Missouri Community College Association’s Facebook page by midnight tonight.

The Missouri Community College Association is a statewide organization through which Missouri’s community colleges work together to advance common agendas.  MCCA provides advocacy, education, information, and networking opportunities in service of the state’s 5,700 community college faculty, staff, administrators, and trustees.
