Former Monarch Albert Pujols inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame

Albert Pujols, one-time Monarch and current Angel, was recently inducted into the National Junior College Athletics Association Hall of Fame.

Pujols played for the MCC-Maple Woods Monarchs in 1999, his only college season before being drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and moving on to win a World Series, among other honors.

Pujols joins Pete Sorber, Sonny Parker, Bill Barton and Ric Lessman in this year’s class of inductees. Athletic directors from institutions in Region XVI vote each year for players or coaches that will be inducted.
