April Board Meeting

The April Board of Trustees meeting will be held Thursday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. at MCC-Business & Technology in Campus Center room 248/249.   Note: The May Board meeting date was changed to Thursday May 8, 2014.  It will be held at the Administrative Center at the normal time of 6:30 p.m.

Students to perform Friday at 18th & Vine Jazz Festival

Employees are invited to to see the MCC-Penn Valley Jazz Ensemble  perform on April 18 at 5 p.m. at the Gem Theater. Penn Valley scholars celebrate Phi Theta Kappa induction

Penn Valley’s best and brightest students were inducted into Phi Theta Kappa honor society Saturday. The program kicked of with opening comments by Yvette Sweeney, dean of students. POWER UP offered fun, interactive trainings and learning strategies.

The Francis Institute and the University of Missouri Extension – Jackson County 4-H After school hosted the 7th Annual Power Up Institute on Saturday. The daylong training institute is geared toward youth and after school professionals. The event featured fun, interactive programming ideas that match educational standards.

Congressman Cleaver, Mayor James highlight Urban Summit at Penn Valley

Join preschoolers to commemorate child abuse prevention month

On Friday, Preschoolers from Plaza de Niños will lead Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley, the Francis Institute for Child & Youth Development and Guadalupe Centers, Inc. to plant pinwheels in commemoration of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
