Are you ready for fairy tale madness? Homecoming is NEXT WEEK at Maple Woods!

A decorating contest, flash mob, and masquerade ball are all part of homecoming this year – celebrate the dark side of fairy tales with us at the 6th Annual Monarch Masquerade Homecoming Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 2013.

Sept. 28
RUBILK – Run/Bike/Walk 4k to benefit the Whole Planet Foundation. Registration is $5 per person beginning at 8:30 a.m. All participants will be entered in a prize drawing at the end of the race.

Sept. 30
Yard & Door Decorating Contest – Student organizations have decorated the Campus Center lawn and faculty/staff have turned their doors into entrances to the dark side. Both students and employees will compete in the Homecoming Challenge for artistic supremacy!

Chris Brown flash mob and performance – gather around the Campus Center at 11:50 to see a performance of “Fine China!”

Oct. 2
Traveling magician – Visit each academic building between 10 a.m. and noon to get a taste of magic and then meet at the Student Center at noon for a mind-blowing magic show.

Blood Drive – The Community Blood Center will be collecting donations from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Student Center. Help us reach our goal of 40 pints!

Monarch Masquerade – Join us at the Campus Center from 7:30-10:30 p.m. for a Monarch Masquerade Ball!

Oct. 3
Bring Light to Social Injustice – Visit each academic building between 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. to learn about social injustice in our community and what you can do to help. MS = KC Human Trafficking; CB = Rural Poverty; HU = LGBT Bullying and Abuse; SC = Suicide.

National Student Day @ the Bookstore – Stop by and tell the cashier where you volunteer and receive a free coffee, as well as an entry to win a free backpack!

Oct. 4
Monarchs Men’s Soccer v. Neosho Community College – 2 p.m. @ Happy Rock Park.
